听力原文:M: Have you decided where to take the client to dinner tonight?

W: Well, I originally made a reservation at Apple's, which is a steakhouse and then I found out that the client is a vegetarian. I then tried to get us into a private room at Anna' s Garden, because the main dining room is too noisy, but now the rooms were all reserved. I got reservations at Muvi, though, for 7:30. I haven't tried it, but I heard it was good.

M: Oh, I've been there. The food is excellent. It's right next to that Japanese place, Tami, where we had the Joan' s birthday party last month.

W: Right. Traffic can be heavy going that way. Let's wrap up the meeting by 6:00 so we will be able to arrive there before the client.

Why did the woman first decide to change places for the dinner?

A.She couldn' t make a reservation.

B.Her guest doesn't eat meat.

C.The restaurant would be noisy.

D.Traffic might be heavy.

听力原文:M: Time to eat!

W: Coming. Oh, I'm starving. Oh yuck! What's that?

M: Ah, now don't complain !

W: But what is it, and where is mom?

M: Now, mom put me in charge of dinner because she's not feeling well tonight.

W: But what is it... and that smell!

M: It's pizza. I just followed an old family recipe hero, and...

W: Let me see that... Oh, Dad. You're missing a page!

M: Oh, uh, well, uh... well I couldn't find the second page of the recipe, but don't worry. I have plenty of experience around the house. Plenty of experience cooking.

W: That's not what mom says.

M: Well, wait, wait, here let me try a piece first. Here, let me, let me cool this off here. Oh uh, yeah. This is great stuff.

W: Yeah fight. Why are you making that face?

M: Well, it's just, just a little rich for me. That's all.

W: Let me try it Dad. Uh. Dad. You put a little too much salt in it and besides it's burned. And what's that?

M: Oh, well, that's just part of my own adaptation to the recipe. I added some pumpkin.

W: Oh, not another one of your surprises. Pumpkin doesn't go on pizza!

M: Well, okay, so what? Uh, what do we do now?

W: Well, how about some cold cereal... You can't mess up on that, Dad.

I wanted to write and personally thank you for your kind effort in helping to tend to one of our (150) at our restaurant in her time of need. 听力原文:M: Hi, Christi, I brought you some tea.

W: Thanks, Mark . Too bad it' s not apple tea, like in Turkey.

M: Yeah, too bad! You really liked living in Turkey, didn' t you?

W: Yeah, it was great. Turkish people are so warm and generous.

M: How do you like the food in Turkey, Christi?

W: Oh, the food was fantastic! But you know what I couldn't get used to? How much people expected me to eat, I gained so much weight while I was living there!

M: Yes, it' s so polite to be generous. We think people aren' t polite if they don' t offer a lot of food.

W: I know. I also learned that it' s not polite for the guest to accept the offer of food at first.

M: Yes, that' s definitely true! If you' re the guest, you must refuse the first two offers of food.

W: The first time I had dinner at a Turkish home, ! felt rude refusing food. So I ate everything. And I kept on eating. . , and eating. Every time the host offered me something, I ate it.

M: Do you know how to stop the host from offering you food? You must leave some food on your plate. That way the host knows that you' re full.

W: Oh, is that the trick? In the United States, we usually eat everything. You don' t want the host to think that you don' t like the food.

M: That is a difference. You know what happened to me the first time I had inner at an American home? When my hostess offered mo a second helping of food, I said" no" the first time, to be polite. But she didn' t offer again! I was still hungry when I left the house!

W: Americans think it' s not polite to insist. We don' t want to force you to eat more if you don' t want more. So if you say" no" the first time, we believe what you say and we don' t offer again.

M: I learned that lesson the hard way. Now if someone asks me if I want something, I say "yes" the first time -- even though I feel rode.

W: Would you like something to eat?

M: No, no, I am not hungry.

W: Ha, ha.

Where are each of the two speakers from possibly?

A.The man is from the United States and the woman is from Turkey.

B.The man is from Turkey, and the woman is from the United States.

C.Both are from the United States.

D.Both are from Turkey.
