Many traditional foods such as beef and potatoes have given way to poultry and pasta (面食) dishes. Fast food bas also become more available, and hamburger restaurants now rival the traditional fish-and-chip shops in popularity. Numerous Chinese and Indian restaurants and pizza houses provide take-away service, and many pubs serve anything from snacks to fun meals as well as alcoholic beverages. Traditional English dishes include roost beef and Yorkshire pudding and steak and kidney pie.

The English generally eat three meals a day. A traditional English breakfast consists of any or all of the following: bacon, sausages, grilled (烤炙的) or fried tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, or toast. Black pudding (blood pudding) may also appear on the menu. However, fewer people now eat a cooked breakfast on a regular basis, preferring various combinations of carnal, toast, juice or fruit, and tea or coffee. The midday meal is usually referred to as lunch and the evening meal as dinner or, when it is less formal, as supper. Working-class people tend to call the midday meal dinner and the meal they have in the early evening "tea." The tradition of afternoon tea, when tea, biscuits, and cakes are enjoyed at about 4 pm, has declined. Similarly, many people no longer have more than a light lunch or snack in the middle of the day.

In the past few decades, it has become one of the most important social movements in the US. Women have been fighting for equal tights hi the U.S. since early 1900s, but it was really in the 1960s and 70s that women began to gain equal fights and treatment in the fields of politics, education, employment, and the home.

As for tile field of politics, today's politicians are well aware that women have become a powerful political force in the country. One of the reasons for this is that there are about 70 million women of voting age. There are, in fact, 7 million mom women of voting age than there are men of voting age in the U.S. today.

As far as the field of employment is concerned, about 42 percent of the entire American work force today is made up of women; there are 38.8 million women workers. In contrast, back in 1900, only 20 percent of the country's work force was made of women. This seems to indicate that greater numbers of today's women are managing to combine careers outside file home with file traditional roles of wife, mother, and homemaker. Years ago, you see, it wins customary for women to work outside the home only until they got married or until they had children. Nowadays, many women are continuing to work after they marry, and even after they have had children.

I have always believed that prevention is better than cure. I now know why I love Kellogg's Honey Nut Cornflakes. They contain vitamins, including B12! If foods contain added vitamins, as

you suggest in your article, then B12 deficiency and diseases associated with it should be left to the past.
