听力原文:WA Sam, when is this week's production meeting?
MA It's at ten o'clock in the Green Willow Room on the second floor. The same place as last week.
WA Right, but last week it was at eleven o'clock on a Tuesday. This week it's ten o'clock on a Wednesday. It would be easier if it was the same day and time every week.
MA I agree. But there's been so much going on over the last month, there's always been a schedule conflict for someone who is crucial to the meeting. Once we get over this busy period I'll set up a fixed recurring meeting schedule.

W: I'm afraid so, I'm too old.
M: But you are only twenty.
W: That's too old for a swimmer. If I swam in an international competition now, I wouldn't win. So I'd rather not swim at all.
M: But don't you enjoy swimming?
W: I used to, when I was small. But if you enter for big competitions you have to work very hard. I used to get up at 6 to go to the pool. I had to train before school, after school and on weekends. I swam thirty-five miles every week!
M: But you were so famous at fifteen. And look at all those cups.
W: It's true that I did have some wonderful memories. The Olympics were very exciting. But I missed some important things too. While other girls were playing, I was swimming.

M: How do you do that?
W: I have a part-time job at a hotel. I work about twenty hours a week, and earn $400. Mter taxes, I make about $320.
M: How do you spend the money?
W: It helps to pay for my room and board on campus. It also pays for things like my cell phone, book, transportation, and clothes.
M: You don't have much money for fun, do you?
W: That's time ! I stick to my budget carefully so I don't have to borrow. I don't like to owe people money. I hardly ever go to movies. My roommates and I usually rent videos, and split the cost, so it's cheaper.
M: How else do you save money?
W: I don't go to restaurants. I make meals with my roommates so it's cheaper to eat. I try to walk or ride my bicycle to college. Oh, and I buy a lot of my clothes at second-hand stores. You can find some very cheap, decent clothes in those stores.
