听力原文: At the end of our program, we invite our listeners to write a comment or call and leave a message regarding their reactions to some of the ideas or opinions mentioned on our program. Since the opinions expressed on our show by our guests do reflect the opinion of our show, we at times get very strong reactions to what has been aired. Since we are here in the interest of facilitating an outlet where people can share and exchange their opinions and views, we thought it fitting to collect some of these reactions expressed to us through this season to share with the rest of our listeners. Therefore, kick back, relax, and stay tuned for the next half hour, while we listen to our viewer's concerns and questions right after this commercial break.

Who most likely is talking?

A.One of the viewers.

B.The producer of the show.

C.The host of the show.

D.A reporter.

听力原文: Good morning. Let me go ahead with our presentation on the company's sales records for the past year. As you see here from this chart, last year's sales figures have been fairly high, except for August, September, and October. This indicates that there is a great need for us to come up with a new fall product line that satisfies consumers to offset the loss we encountered last year. Our view is that, unlike other seasons, fall lacks any unique characteristics in terms of our clothing line.

We are currently receiving ideas from every department on new items for this fall, but regrettably, none of them have proved to be satisfactory. However, we still recommend that people contribute any views to us, and anyone whose idea is chosen will be rewarded with a bonus. We sense that other companies are experiencing the same kind of problem we have, and I personally think we have to take advantage of this opportunity to dominate the market.

How will the company overcome the decline in sales?

A.Develop new items to sell.

B.Advertise the items more aggressively.

C.Downsize the company.

D.Use ideas from consumers.

听力原文: You may remember that a few weeks ago we discussed the question of what photography is. Is it art or is it a method of reproducing images? Docs photography belong in museums or just in our homes? Today I want to talk about a person who tried to make his professional life an answer to such questions. Alfred Stieglitz went from the United States to Germany to study engineering. While he was over there he became interested in photography and began to experiment with his camera. He took pictures under conditions that most photographers considered too difficult. He took them at night, in the rain and of people and objects reflected in windows. When he returned to the United Stated he continued this revolutionary effort. Stieglitz was the first person to photograph skyscrapers, clouds and views from an airplane. What Stieglitz was trying to do in his photographs was what he tried to do throughout his life: make photography ail art. He thought that photography could be just as beautiful a form. of selfexpression as painting or drawing. For Stieglitz, his camera was his brush. While ninny photographers in the late 1800s and early 1900s thought of their work as a reproduction of identical images, Stieglitz saw his as creative art form. moment. In fact he never retouched his prints or made copies of thorn. If you are in this class today, I'm sure you'd say: Well, painters don't normally make extra copies of their paintings, do they?

(23)

B.Alfred Stieglitz' approach to photography.

C.Photographic techniques common in the early 1900's.
